Research Promotion
The Swiss Council for Educational Research (CORECHED) provides financial assistance to promote participation in congresses in foreign countries and publications in English

In order to promote the internationalisation of Swiss educational research, CORECHED has decided to provide financial assistance for the presentation of Swiss projects at congresses in foreign countries and for the publication of Swiss research.

Participation in congresses

Financial assistance of up to Fr. 1,500 will be provided to researchers active in Switzerland to promote their participation in foreign congresses. This money can be used to cover travel expenses, accommodation costs and registration fees. The committee appointed by CORECHED will rule on all applications submitted three times a year (March 31, June 30 and September 31). Up to five applications may be approved every year. The committee will take the following criteria into account when making its decisions:

Criteria for supporting participation in congresses
  1. Scientific contributions to a congress have to be accepted by the congress organizers as a contribution to be presented in the main programme of the congress. The title of the contribution and name of the speaker have to be explicitly mentioned with regard to plenary meetings or workshops (no poster contributions will be supported).
  2. The content of the contribution has to be related to research in education.
  3. The congress has to be under the aegis of a notable organisation/group.
  4. Preference will be given to those applicants whose employer is presumably not likely to finance the costs of participating in the congress.
  5. After the congress a written copy of the contribution presented has to be given to CORECHED, which is entitled to publish it on its homepage.

Translations

CORECHED will award up to five grants of a maximum of Fr. 2,000 each for having Swiss research work translated into English for publication purposes. Applications for such a grant may be submitted at any time. The committee will decide whether to accept an application within three months of submission.

Criteria for translation grants
  1. The publication has to have already been accepted by a publisher or editor. CORECHED can therefore also award a grant after a translation has been done.
  2. The content of the publication has to be related to research in education.
  3. Preference will be given to peer-reviewed journals, specialist publications, congressional volumes and books, in the order cited.
  4. Preference will be given to those applicants whose employer is presumably not likely to finance translation costs.
  5. CORECHED will receive a printed copy and, if possible, an electronic version of the translation that it can publish on its homepage.

Contact

Applicants can submit their applications by physical mail to the secretariat of CORECHED, providing the necessary information pertaining to the aforementioned criteria.
