CORECHED Prize in Educational Research

The Swiss Council for Educational Research (CORECHED) is offering a prize in educational research. The prize money of CHF 25'000.- (CHF 10'000.- for individual research projects) intends to award outstanding research projects in the domain of educational research on a regular basis.

The CORECHED Prize is addressed to educational researchers in Switzerland. The submitted research project has to be published and documented. The suggested proposals will be examined by a
scientific jury.


CORECHED Prize in Educational Research 2009

March 30, 2009 - The CORECHED Prize in Educational Research 2009 was awarded to a research team directed by Prof. Dr. Franz Baeriswyl (University of Fribourg) and comprising Prof. Dr. Ulrich Trautwein (University of Tübingen) as well as Christian Wandeler and Katrin Oswald (both University of Fribourg). They received this prize for their analysis of a new transition model, which regulates the transition from primary school to secondary school in the canton of Fribourg.

The prize, which has been awarded for the third time, includes a cheque for 25,000 Swiss francs.

Former CORECHED Prizes

The CORECHED Prize for educational research 2007 was awared to two research projects: one prize went to the Bernese educational researcher Erich Ramseier for his work about motivation and outcome of schooling. The other prize went to the Research group of Prof. Madelon Saada-Robert in Geneva for their work about didactics of writing.

The CORECHED Prize in Educational Research 2005 was awarded to a research team directed by Peter Sieber (University of Zurich and PH Zurich) and comprising Andrea Bertschi-Kaufmann (Pädagogische Hochschule Aargau) and Wassilis Kassis (University of Basel), as well as Thomas Bachmann, Hansjakob Schneider and Christine Tresch.
